In August 2017 HAL partnered with Pacific Housing Northwest to bring approximately 111 market rate apartments, 28 affordable apartments and over 5,000 square feet of complementary retail to the emerging, close-in neighborhood of Beacon Hill. The development will sit above the Beacon Hill light rail station, which is a 10 minute ride to Seattle’s downtown core. PHNW and HAL worked closely with Sound Transit and community stakeholders to design a project that will complement the character of the neighborhood while bringing active, vibrant uses to this otherwise underutilized transit hub. Construction is set to begin in 2019 and complete in 2021.
